Celebrating Learning Difference Awareness Month!
Learning Difference Awareness Spirit Week
October is National Learning Difference Awareness Month, and we celebrated the unique minds that make our community in style. From October 5 through October 9, we held our first annual LD Spirit Week with the theme: “Neuro-Wonderful: Celebrating Every Brain.”
For our students, navigating diagnoses like Dyslexia, SLD, ADHD, ASD, or Executive Functioning challenges requires immense resilience. This week was designed to reframe those challenges, honoring our students’ learning differences not as deficits, but as diverse ways of experiencing and impacting the world. Our goal is to foster an environment where every child feels seen, validated, and proud of how their brain works.
🧩 Monday, October 5: “Hat’s Off to Creative Thinkers!”
💡 Tuesday, October 6: “Bright Brains” (Neon/Tie-Dye Day)
🧦 Wednesday, October 7: “Mismatched & Marvelous” (Silly Socks & Clashing Clothing)
🦸♂️ Thursday, October 8: “Superpower Day” (Dress up as YOUR superpower)
🥁 Friday, October 9: “Passion Parade” (show off your passion)
