Learning Programs

At Pace, we have over 50 years of experience empowering students with learning disabilities to gain confidence and achieve academic and social success. Many students come to us lacking self-assurance and struggling academically. But with our supportive learning environment, they blossom into happy, self-assured individuals who thrive in and out of the classroom.

We specialize in serving students whose primary need stems from specific learning disorders including:

  • Dyslexia (Reading Disorder)
  • Dysgraphia (Disorder of Written Expression)
  • Dyscalculia (Mathematics Disorder)
  • Expressive/Receptive Language Disorder
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with accompanying learning disabilities
  • Receptive/expressive language disorders

While we may enroll students with co-occurring diagnosis like Autism Spectrum Disorder or Anxiety, our specialty is in supporting students with diagnosed learning disorders. Our student-centered approach focuses on each child’s unique needs to empower them to reach their full potential as learners. At Pace Brantley Preparatory School, every student can feel confident and prepared to excel.

Lively Letters

Lively Letters is a dynamic program to build critical early literacy skills in our students. Lively Letters takes a multifaceted approach to phonics instruction by integrating phonemic awareness, phonology, and decoding skills.
Through interactive lessons and activities, students learn to identify and manipulate the smallest units of sound in language, known as phonemes. They practice blending these sounds together to form words, while also learning the relationship between sounds and written letters.

Lively Letters lays the foundation for reading proficiency by teaching students to recognize letter patterns and connect them to the correct sounds. Students learn to decode new words, read with accuracy and fluency, and apply proper spelling.

This dynamic program brings phonics to life through multisensory techniques like letter tracing, auditory blending exercises, and physical movements. Lively Letters gives our students an engaging, hands-on approach to master the foundational skills they need to become successful readers and writers.

IXL Math Subscription

Pace Brantley Preparatory School utilizes IXL’s personalized math learning platform to support student achievement in alignment with Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards.

IXL’s extensive skills library contains over 5,000 math skills that comprehensively cover the key mathematical concepts and applications outlined in the B.E.S.T. Standards. Each skill is tailored specifically to each standard, allowing students to practice the precise skills required for their grade level.

The platform provides real-time analytical reports to inform instruction. Teachers can pinpoint students’ strengths and knowledge gaps at the skill level, enabling them to differentiate instruction appropriately.

By practicing IXL’s targeted, standards-aligned skills, our students build mathematical proficiency. The platform’s adaptive functionality and instant feedback help students take ownership of their learning, while the robust analytics provide teachers with actionable insights. IXL is an invaluable tool for meeting Florida’s high standards for math education.

FLEX

We offer an enriching FLEX (Focused Learning Experience) program to complement traditional academics. FLEX provides students with 3-week rotations throughout the year to explore unique topics that pique their curiosity and passions.

These sessions allow students to direct their own learning through immersive experiences beyond the state-mandated curriculum. FLEX offerings are wide-ranging and have included activities like coding, rocketry, photography, community service, and more. Students get to choose which experience speaks to their interests.

Unlike core classes, FLEX has no grades or homework. The goal is to spark our students’ curiosity and love of discovery in their education. FLEX provides a creative outlet to pursue growth and learning with no limits but their imagination.

Our FLEX program enables students to take ownership over their education. By guiding their own experience, students’ intrinsic motivation and engagement soars. FLEX shows our commitment to developing the whole child — mind, body, and spirit.
